Sharjah to get new mountain road leading to Khorfakkan's highest peak
Sharjah's Ruler announced a new mountainous tourist road project leading to Khorfakkan on July 17, describing it as "a wonder never seen before".
The road will wind over mountain peaks and slopes, starting from Al Ghuzair Tunnel and reaching the highest mountain peak in Khorfakkan, at an elevation of 1,100 meters above sea level.
The road will be surrounded by trees, plantations, water channels, and beautiful residences, transforming the journey into a delightful tourist experience in a mild and cool winter climate. Additionally, the road will be converted from a highway into an enjoyable tourist route serving the scattered villages in the area.

Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, a Member of the Supreme Council and the Ruler of Sharjah, also promised residents of Kalba the opening of projects in Jabal Deem, including a rest area, farms, and playgrounds, expected to open in March 2026.
This announcement was made during an intervention by the Sharjah Ruler during the 'Direct Line' programme, broadcast by the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority.
